Wellington Timebank - Our People

Edie is the manager who looks after the Wellington Timebank. She's a writer who loves storytelling, D&D and drinking lots of coffee. UK born, she immigrated to Aotearoa as a kid, moved to Te Whanganui-a-Tara for uni and never left! Her background is in management, volunteer coordination and community engagement.

Bernadette has been a long time Timebank member and a Steering Committee member since 2019. One of her favourite trades was a kayaking trade with Lainey, a fellow Timebanker and ex-steering committee member! They spent the day paddling out in the harbour. Bernadette provides great support to the Wellington Timebank through her keen attitude and community mindedness.

Marion fell in love with Wellington from her first visit in 1999 and has lived here for 25 years. She joined the Timebank because she wanted to be more involved in the local community but as a doctor, didn’t have a lot of regular time for volunteering. Timebanking has been fabulous for getting to know many new people in all walks of life. Marion loves tramping and is a volunteer DoC hut warden, cooking - including the catering for Ōtaki Summer Camp and health advocacy.

Lisa has been a Timebank member since 2020 and joined the Steering Committee in late 2024. She helps out with social media, photography and events like the Good Stuff Gift Shop and the annual film fundraiser. Originally from Ireland, Lisa has made Te Whanganui-a-Tara their home since 2017. When she's not timebanking or working, she can usually be found lounging on the couch watching movies with her partner Nik and their cat Strider.

Eduardo is an early career academic at the School of Geography, Environment and Earth Sciences at Vic Uni. He has tutored and lectured in development studies and environmental studies courses since 2019. Before moving to Aotearoa to study his PhD, Eduardo worked on a bunch of different development and conservation projects in his home country Perú. He has enjoyed being part of the Wellington Timebank since 2019, only a few months after he arrived in Aotearoa, and has offered photography, haircuts, editing and translating services as his main trades. Eduardo prefers to save up his time credits until the end of the year to get his friends and family holiday presents from the Wellington Timebank's Good Stuff Gift Shop.

Sarah only discovered the Timebank last year through the Community Centre and is now a big fan. She is originally from the Bay of Plenty, but has lived in Wellington for 16 years. She works in central government, and likes spending time with her family, hiking, cooking, learning Japanese and running.
