Fringe Festival comes to Newtown

Did you know the 2025 Fringe Festival is coming up soon?? We’ve got heaps of exciting Fringe Festival shows happening RIGHT HERE at the Community Centre, on the corner of Colombo & Rintoul Streets. There’s something for everybody, so have a read below and snap up your tickets ASAP!
- Sven: 14-16th Feb, 7.30pm
This is a mysterious one! Wellington's most obscure chamber pop orchestra will be performing songs about risk takers, bakers and fakers – expect choir, strings and movies.
- Steiner and the Snake: Feb 27th – March 1st, 7.30pm
Behind Waldorf education, biodynamic agriculture and manyother initiatives lurks a troubling philosophy, concocted by Rudolf Steiner in the early 20th Century. His insights reflect the racism of his time,his German nationalism and the fertile imagination of an 'initiate' let looseon a world hungry for the esoteric.
- Triple Double Trouble: March 4 -5th, 7pm
Two chances to see 3 duets! Improv Connection's most seasoned players explore the absurdity of our modern-day reality... Get ready to laugh, cry, cringe, and squeal in delight. Each night is a totally different show!
- The Rocking Rainbows: March 6th, 7pm
Experience the uplifting journey of "The Rocking Rainbows," a band of talented musicians who embrace their disabilities with unwavering passion and exceptional skill. They have showcased their talent at every kind of venue imaginable as well as on TV and radio – we’re delighted to be hosting them this time!
- Airhorn! March 7th, 8pm
Wellington's feistiest comedians and regular guests at the centre, are serving a maxxed-out version of their hit monthly show. With an all-star line-up of comedic talent this event promises to be lewd, loud and loving it!
- Hugo’s Rainbow Show: March 8-9th, 1pm and 3pm
Join drag superstar Hugo Grrrl for a musical, magical adventure exploring the science of the skies above. Hugo's Rainbow Show is for everyone! Best for two to ten year olds but even big kids will love this wholesome, goofy and glamorous experience.
