Wellington Timebank

Time banking is the trading of skills within a community, using time rather than money, as the measurement tool (ie. I walk your dog, earning me a 'time credit' and then I 'spend' my time credit getting Bob to help me with my fence. Bob then spends the time credit he's earned to get Mary to babysit his kids. And so on..)
As well as being a trading system, it can help to build new relationships, encourage local networking and give value to people's skills that we might not normally think twice about.

Newtown Tool Library
As of the 28th of February, the Tool Library will be at it's new dedicated space on Constable St. The space is between the playground and Newtown Library.
The Newtown Tool Library is a lending library for tools of all kinds.
Members can check out tools free of charge and can borrow them for up to a week. Tools are donated from dusty garages where they are seldom used and are then put in the hands of people who need them. Our set of tools serve many people, reducing the environmental impact that results in everyone owning their own rarely used tools. The Tool Library enables people to repair their broken items, rather than sending them to the landfill and replacing them. Tools are maintained and safe to use and the necessary safety gear and training to use the tools is provided.
Open hours: Wednesdays 5-7pm, Saturdays 11am-1pm
